The recent downturn in Toronto’s real estate market, brought on after Ontario introduced measures this spring including a foreign buyers’ tax, is expected to be brief, the federal housing agency said Wednesday.

Canadian Real Estate Prices Will Drop, Or Rents Will Soar Show OECD Numbers

According to Better Dwelling,

Canadian real estate prices are about to drop, or rental unit prices are about to soar. Numbers from theOrganisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) show the home price-to-rent ratio is making a parabolic rise. Real estate prices have not been this detached from rental prices in the 47 years of data we could obtain.

The Minister of National Revenue is heading to court to compel a group of developers to hand over documents in a bid to learn details about buyers who flipped pre-sale contracts before construction was completed.
